Slack
Key Masters Collaborate Again
in fifth compilation CD, Live from Maui...
52nd
GRAMMY Award Winner
for Best Hawaiian Music Album!

Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Volume 2
Slack key guitar has been the music of Hawai'i since the 1800’s.
Traditionally played in island backyards, slack key has come to represent Hawai'i as a true folk art form and is now known and enjoyed
around the world.
At the weekly Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert Series
on Maui, Hawaii’s best musicians gather to play this unique style of
music. This is the fifth collection of songs recorded live at this
show.
In this fifth album of live music from the shows, it is our great
pleasure to present music by many of Hawaii’s finest slack key artists:
George Kahumoku Jr,
Dennis Kamakahi,
Sonny Lim,
Keoki Kahumoku,
Owana Salazar,
Kawika Kahiapo,
Jeff Peterson,
and Daniel Ho.
As a bonus, there are performances by up and coming young players, plus
leo ki’eki’e
(Hawaiian falsetto) by our islands’ most renowned practitioner of the
art, Uncle Richard
Ho’opi’i. Another included treat is a song featuring Hawaiian
steel guitar by one of the true
masters of the craft,
Bobby Ingano.
